 Server Settings

If you are trying to change settings of a virtual server, then this is the place you want to be.

Most of the items that can be changed are intuitive - they change what you would expect them to change, only few need explanation:

  • The "Allowed Codecs" section gives you the ability to allow or disallow what codecs a user can choose when creating a channel on your server. This is usefull if you want to cut down your bandwidth usage - just disallow the high quality codecs.
  • "Server Type" gives you two possibilities to choose from:
    1. "Clan Server", which means you can see every user connected to the server, good for servers that have a relativly low usercount
    2. "Public Server", which makes it impossible for connected clients to see who is in channels other than the one they are currently in, very usefull for huge servers, where all the "member left" and "member joined" sounds would disturb the users and packets submitting data only relevant for other channels would raise your traffic.
  • If you intend to use "webpost" (a tool that lets you display information about your TeamSpeak server on your webpage), then the two WebPost specific settings might be interesting for you - please read about them in the documentation that comes with webpost. (Web-Post Forum)
