Setting Default Prices
Setting default prices for VEs (or Plesk domains) resource parameters and applications facilitates creation of hosting plans and ensures the correct calculations in case a customer upgrades his (or her) subscription.
To set/edit default prices:
- Click Product Manager on the Billing Director submenu and select Default Prices. The list of resource parameters (separately for Virtuozzo VEs and Plesk domains) and applications appears.
- Select the relevant tab.
- Click on the resource parameter or application name.
- Set the fees.
In respect to the parameters composition (and order of tariffing), the list is read-only because the set of parameters is bound to the Virtuozzo or Plesk design. The list of application includes all the application templates installed on your Management Node.
In general, resource parameters can be of two types:
- Billable. These are the parameters we are talking about in connection with the default prices. Such parameters define services that can be included in hosting plans or sold separately. You can set the price per additional unit. For example, the price for additional mailbox, dynamic IP address, disk space per Mb, etc. When you create a hosting plan, you can include several units in a hosting plan price, set the maximal allowed limit for these services and adjust the price for additional unit.
- Non-Billable. The system specific parameters (like disk inode quota, number of processes, etc.) that define the configuration of Virtuozzo VE. The price for these parameters is not set. When you create a hosting plan, you can set the value for each parameter within the allowable range, which is defined by the VE class (light or unlimited). Customer does not see these parameters because from the customer's point of view this is the internal configuration of the purchased system.
The billable parameters in their turn, can be:
- Measured. Use and then pay for the actual consumption calculated at the end of the billing cycle, i.e., each month. For example, the disk space and traffic are measured resources. However, a customer should not exceed the maximal allowable limits fixed for his (or her) hosting plan.
- Non-measured. First pay then get and use. For example, the new domain registration cannot be metered. This means that every time your customer needs to register a new domain, he (or she) will have to pay for it first. Only after payment is received, a new domain will be registered.
As for applications, you can set the setup fee (the one-time payment just for application installation) and the recurring fee to be paid monthly.
